How to not suck at something
A commitment and an introduction
I have been writing and editing this introductory post for about 5 days now.
Someone get a publisher on the line, we’ve got a serious writer over here.
I’ve always enjoyed writing. And by writing I mean; long emails, Facebook captions that no one actually reads and lengthy text replies, where a simple “lol” would have been just fine.
I’ve always been afraid to write and share it publicly on something like a blog. So instead of limiting my written masterpieces to WhatsApp texts to my mum, I’ve decided that the only way I’m going to get past my fear of writing is to… well… write.
Why is it that whenever we want to improve on something that we enjoy doing, we don’t do more of that thing? It seems so simple but for some reason, we find any excuse not to do it.
When I think back to the first time I drove a car, I was scared and totally sucked! But after a few weeks of driving every day, it became so easy that I could almost do it subconsciously.
If you enjoy something and you want to improve on it, I encourage you to make the time to do more of that thing.
But do it consistently or don’t do it at all.
“If you enjoy something and you want to improve on it, I encourage you to make the time to do more of that thing.”
So with that, I welcome you to my blog. The place I come to write.
I hope I can provide some kind of value to you with my thoughts on design, photography, tech and just being better.
Thanks for stopping by.
